Does anyone know if there is a planned integration for Sky Q in the UK either from UC themselves or if a third party is working on such an integration? Seems lots of folks are interested in this.

You can download the entire set of IR codes from Global Cache and then upload them to the remote.

Playing around a bit more- I have tried learned codes and also copy/pasted the Sky Q ir codes that Harvey posted a few days ago. When I test the command via the web browser on my iPad, it works every time, however when I then try it on the remote, it is very hit and miss, sometimes not working at all. It’s getting very frustrating as Sky Q is the main thing we watch and therefore the most used commands I will need. Any further suggestions guys please?

Are you sure the remote’s IR transmitter is strong enough and reaching the Sky Q box?

I have an R2. The WiFi strength from the dock is abysmal and I have been forced to trail an extender to the front of the Sky Q. This is not pretty or ideal, but it works.

I am waiting (ordered September, supposed to have shipped February) for an extra R3 dock and IR blaster that I hope will alleviate this. But, I am in the UK and according to UC, they don’t yet have permission to ship webshop orders here.

There are two excellent approaches within Home Assistant that integrate Sky Q through IP commands, one is a HACS add on and one is built into the main system. They are quite different, but both work. Then Remote 2 integrates with Home Assistant.

Yes I have tried them.

But I don’t like the idea of having an intermediary when controlling the Sky Q. It’s one extra point of failure.

This was brought home to me just the other day when the NUC I run HA on started to fail.

Ideally I’d like to control my devices with remote based IP integrations but, failing that, Bluetooth and IR. All on the remote without having to rely on any other systems.

Saying that, HA is essential for controlling lights, room scenes etc as part of the remote’s activities.

Interesting. I am currently using the Sky Q HACS integration, but am curious what built-in solution you are referring to.
