Remote3 / Dock3 - Tips and Tricks

okay, why not on the web configurator?

Because the repeat command setting doesn’t exists in the web configurator. It’s a remote ui only setting.

okay, so, at the moment, the remote3 works better then before. but my dock3 disconnected sometimes and i need to restart it by hand (plug out the powercord..). are there any hints for this problem? thanks!

Set a fixed ip / dhcp reservation for your dock (and maybe the remote too) and set a custom url in the dock settings as explained here https://support.unfoldedcircle.com/hc/en-us/articles/20018912602524-Manually-add-a-Dock-in-the-Web-Configurator in the 3rd step.

okay, all steps done.

hi @all hm my dock still has problems and i need to restart it every few days. i have no idea why and it bothers me. have someone the same problem with the dock? the remote can’t connect to the dock, and i need to restart the dock.

thanks.

Is it perhaps connected with a restart of the Remote? There is a new firmware for the dock almost ready and the change log might show possible causes of this behaviour.

Ralf

no, the remote works without problems at the moment and then, the dock is not reachable and needs a restart. okay i will wait for the firmware, thanks for the info!!

is someone using the “internal ir-blaster” function from the remote3 and can say something about it?

I tested it. Range was very good. I had success with 8-9m. I was out of room before she failed. I did not test the angle.

Ralf

okay sounds good. do you use it permanent?

No. 95% of my devices are IP controlled and the last 3 IR devices controlled by a Dock.

Ralf

okay. thanks for your answers

a small update after a few days/weeks..
the remote works better, but there still some error. i think it could be the network connection (wlan), i will check that with another router with better wlan range.

one more question.

My projector turns off when I press two buttons. I set this up using an IR command, and it works great. But when I want to switch between activities and keep the projector on (for example, when switching from Apple TV to a UHD player), it still always executes the first step of the IR command. What can I do to prevent this?
They are in the same activity-group.

Try creating macro with

POWER_ON = SINGLE POWER AND

POWER_OFF = POWER, DELAY,POWER

and use these in start/end sequence

Ralf

you mean two macros, one for power_on and one for power_off or only one with both functions?

The remote doesn’t know that you IR sequences turns off the projector. It just sees it as a normal command. Macros will probably have the same issue.
Try to create an activity that just has the power on and power off commands for the projector in its on and off sequence. Then add this activity to you other activity (activities are also entities internally). You can then add a switch on and switch off command to your on and off sequences. This way the remote knows that these are power commands.

I can configure my projector to switch off also with one power command.

Jemand das neue Update,für das Dock durchgeführt?
