Introducing Remote 3

Thank you, I looked into this and it looks way to complicated for me to even install it. I hope they will integrate this stuff into the regulair software or make things as easy to install like they do for instance with an Unraid server where you can easily install dockers and plugins.
I consider myself as a person with lot’s of AV and computer software experience, even with my pronto remotes. They make so much more sense in the way they are programmed. I just don’t seem to understand the logic behind the way the software of the R2 is designed. I have it for a long time now and never use it because it can’t do everything I want it to do or gives an error even with IR using official IR codes for my Trinnov. So far my Pronto’s rule (exept for WOL)

Have you looked at the Web GUI for the Core API (http://remote-ip/doc/core-rest, scroll down to POST intg/install and click on Try it out, choose a file and then click on Execute.) or the Remote Toolkit (GitHub - albaintor/UC-Remote-Two-Toolkit). Both options offer you an easy way to selected and upload a custom integrations with the latest beta firmware releases.

Before you want to test the Rest-API you must once logged into the remote.

It is not so easy as it will be in the final version but it is also no rocket science. Most of the external integrations already offer the needed file for upload in the remote. For someone which made it with the Pronto it should be easy.

Thanks!
I can’t find the integration install in the list, but the remote toolkit looks very interesting. So I installed that, but there is only the issue dat I can’t seem to add my remote. It gives an error while registering remote. I have the latest regular firmware. Do I need some beta firmware to connect?

As I wrote you need a beta firmware to install custom integrations. But the toolkit should also connect with a stable firmware

Yes, you did say that. But I can’t register. It Does says error, no details.
I will search the forum how to install the beta firmware, maybe that helps.

Edit: It works. I didn’t realize I had to enter the pincode in the field next to web-configurator.

Also checkt the beta update button, but no beta firmware availablewhile there should be 2.0.

You need to restart the remote after you activated the option to receive beta updates

That worked!

I’ve been on the reservationlist since october 2022 for remote two, never heard anything. So backed remote 3 instead.

I’d have to agree. The product is pretty good, the service/support is abysmal unfortunately.

Service and support aren’t profitable, the same way fixing an existing product is less profitable than selling a newer, shinier one
