Input Source List (App Selection) for Apple TV

I deleted the Apple TV integration and re-added it with no change. The source list still does not populate. The sound mode drop-down also does not work.

As I wrote before it’s most likely a cache problem of the configurator as the integration itself is working fine and providing all sources and sound mode lists. On Discord other users confirmed the same issue with other integratins like Denon.

Is it possible to type in the input name in the empty drop-down? If so, are there specific names for each app? I tried typing in “YouTube” but that doesn’t work.

For me “YouTube” works. Check the log if there is any error when executing the command

I’ve been copying the name of the app (hover over the app) and entered that verbatim and so far it has worked for each app.

I’m not able to get this to work and typing in the name doesn’t work either and I’m running beta software. Any thoughts?

I’ve been asking Gemini about this and for me these codes worked for the various input sources:

Apple TV App: com.apple.TVWatchList

DirecTV Stream: com.directv.directv - that didn’t work for me so I instead used: dfw://

Disney+: com.disney.disneyplus

ESPN: sportscenter://

Netflix: com.netflix.Netflix

MGM+: com.mgm.mgmplus- that didn’t work for me so I instead used: mgmplus://

Paramount+: com.cbs.ParamountPlus - that didn’t work for me so I instead used: pplus://

Peacock: com.nbcuni.peacock.ios - that didn’t work for me so I instead used: peacock://

Plex: com.plexapp.plex

Prime Video: com.amazon.aiv.AIVApp

You don’t need the app id for the Apple TV integration. The AI probably mixed this up with the Android TV integration. Maybe the source list is empty and the integration can’t find a matching app name. But without logs this is just a guess…

For me, inputting those in the box for “input Source” was the only way I could get it to work. For example, for Netflix, I first tried “netflix” but that didn’t work. WHen I inserted “com.netflix.Netflix” it worked. THe first time I set this up it gave me a dropdown list, but it doesn’t do that anymore and that is why I did it manually.

It probably works because these apps support app deep links which urls are not checked against the current source list. But it may not work with all apps.
Do you see an error message when you use the app name? Also use the exact name like it’s shown on the home screen (case senstive). But if the source list is really empty also this won’t work and you get an error. Without logs this is impossible to know.

Still no drop-down source list, but I am able to get it to work by typing in the exact app name. Upgrading to 2.8.2 seems to have helped.

Most work with Input_source (infuse, Netflix, AMC+, etc) but I have not gotten “hulu” or “AppleTV” to work.

Any suggestions??

Prime Video

I need one for Discovery+. Have tried Discovery+ & Discovery. Neither work

Input Source works on Apple TV as long as the ATV is on when you’re adding the command. I set my ATV UI up using this.

Yes. The rest of them work (Netflix, Disney+, etc). I just can’t figure out what is the correct text for Discovery+

Anyone with a idea to try for Discovery+ ??

According to a number of sources on the web Discovery+ doesn’t support Apple TV’s “IP / now-playing” control API, so it never shows up as a controllable source.

Offtopic I know, but in what region do you live where there’s still Discovery+ available?

Unfortunately they have phased out this service in the Netherlands and included it in HBO, who totally neglects the Discovery content.

Have it in the UK
