When I want to add new entities to the already integrated Home Assistant, I have to delete the Home Assistant integration and then add it again. That’s a bit challenging for me, since I have to manually reselect all the entities that were previously included. There’s always the risk of forgetting one.
Is there maybe a workaround for this, or should I just wait for the next update?
I’ve been working with the remote 3 intensively for weeks now, and it keeps getting better and better. I’ve already retired my Sofabaton.
But I’ll have to take a break from testing this weekend — otherwise my wife might “retire” me!
You shouldnt need to do this. When I add new entities from within the UC Integration in HA I can then immediately see these entities as available to me to add within the UC R3 Web Configurator.
It worked perfectly the first time, but when I add something new in Home Assistant a few days later — for example, if I create a new scene in Home Assistant — I can’t add that entity to the already existing integration.
Even running the setup again doesn’t help.
Does it work for you when you’ve already set everything up and later want to add a new entity in the Home Assistant integration, without having to reinstall the entire integration?
OK and so you are not seeing the new entities you add in HA then added to the end of your entities page in the UC Web Configurator? When you add them in HA and you hit submit do you see the little circle revolving and then get a ‘success’ message when they sync?
Picture 1: Integration works fine and I click on the plus button
Picture 2: No possibility to select new entities because there are no one.
I have to delete the integration and install it again. I only see entities in the first time.
And I tried also the “start setup” button. But also no entities to select.
You add the entities you want to see in Home Assistant itself (not the integration within UC) and then they will appear in the UC Web Configurator without you having to rerun the home assistant integration in UC.
Just a quick note though. Currently you can add entities via the HA addin. But you can’t remove them….yet. So they will quickly accumulate on the UC. Think carefully about what entities you want to add.
I think there is work going on to work out a way to remove HA entites using the HA addin.
