This remote is such a mess, mine is still in the box. It doesn’t work with anything so pretty useless. I have sky q in uk and anthem mrx 720 amp, nothing works! And do clunky and difficult. I need to be a software engineer to work out how to use it
If you are looking for help you might want to be a bit more specific. I have a Sky Q receiver in my setup and it works flawlessly via Infrared. If you are interested I can send you a csv file with the IR commands.

I, too, thought this as well.
I bit the bullet and am now trying IR control coupled with the local Android TV integration and a few scripts from Home Assistant.
I now have my Nvidia Shield 2019 Pro (no IR), Sky Q, LG TV and Pioneer VSX-932 AVR all working.
The downside is I’ve had to keep the dock on the top of the media cabinet, which is under the wall mounted TV. It’s not convenient for charging the remote. Also, I’ve had to run the IR extenders which leave trailing wires on the front of the cabinet, which is not approved of by my wife. I’m hoping that the promised IR Blaster will be available soon (when the Kickstarter ends) and I can upload IP and Bluetooth integrations to the remote. Some of these integrations are still to be written, and certainly not by me!
As to the software, it is daunting at first. But with help from the fine people here and on Discord, it can be learned and even enjoyed. My R2 is hands down more powerful than my Harmony Elite and Sofabaton X1. I especially love the integration with Home Assistant, which gives me control over lights and IOT devices. You can even add them in Activities.
I still have a few bugs to sort out, but overall, I see the R2 as a fantastic device.

I agree 100% with you! When I first got the R2 I couldn’t get it to do anything I wanted. It wouldn’t learn IR from some of my remotes and even when it did learn sometimes other things I wanted it to do wouldn’t work. THANK GOODNESS for this forum, as here I learned about the Global Cache of IR codes and finally got the codes I needed for ALL my devices. I then had trouble setting up the Activities and again this forum came to the rescue! Lastly the included IR extenders were TOTALLY worthless with so short cables. I found some on Amazon with 10 foot cables and they worked perfectly. And speaking of IR control, yes it would be nice to control some or all of the devices via IP but I couldn’t get some to work at all and the ones I did get to work didn’t seem to support all the commands I wanted. So ALL of my devices are IR controlled and they work perfectly. So at that point the R2 was performing 100% of what my Harmony Elite had been doing.
Then I wanted to experiment with Home Assistant and bought HA Green. Again with the assistance from this forum I got R2 to talk to HA and was able to get R2 to control my ceiling fan and some lights. As a bonus I found out that HA recognized my Wi Fi enabled thermostats (I have a zoned HVAC system with 3 thermostats) and once again with help from this forum I was able to get the R2 to control the thermostats. So this made R2 MUCH MUCH better than the Elite.
So in summary my first few weeks with R2 were almost a total disaster and I was ready to let it gather dust on a shelf somewhere. But I didn’t want to give up and with A LOT OF HELP from this forum I agree with you that I also “see the R2 as a fantastic device. Stick with it!!”

There does not seem to be an option to attach a document, but if you copy the below into a spreadsheet and save it as a csv file you should be able to do a bulk upload in the Remote 2 web interface.

I was also very frustrated at first. I was adding the R2 and Home Assistant at the same time. After a couple weeks I went back to the Harmony but kept working on Home Assistant. Once I realized how powerful HA is, I reset the R2 and started over, letting HA do most of the heavy lifting and automation, requiring only some basic activity creation and laying out the remote interface.
I have an Anthem AVM60, and there is a good Home Assistant integration. I may have augmented that integration by learning a few IR commands in the R2. A really nice feature of this setup is you can use any combo of IP/IR control you need, based on what performs best.
In this configuration the combo of R2 and HA is basically a $500 Control4 automation system with a really premium feeling remote front end.
