Connected my R3 and Dock to my network and my UniFi console thinks they are something other than Unfolded Circle devices.
Trivial, but all part of doing a job well.
The Unifi console device icons and names are provided by Ubiqiti, not UC. How a network controller chooses to identify a particular device is completely out of the control of UC.
UC can submit ‘missing icon’ or ‘wrong device type’ reports.
What? UC are supposed to send that information to hundreds of network hardware manufacturers?
Nothing is stopping you from submitting that information to Ubiqiti. But they are not overly responsive.
I agree. Ubiquiti have never updated a single device icon / type that I have seen submitted to them over the past 2 years sadly ….
I love my Ubiquiti kit, but they’re kings of not implementing basic stuff either for years, or ever.
A simple icon picker like UC use on the web configurator for us to use our own icons would be much appreciated.
I would love for Unifi to add device icon much faster, but they do eventually add many of them. 1 year ago I had many that were missing and today I’m only missing the Remote 3 and the Dock 3. But agree that they should let us upload our own pictures
