I have a Sony HT-A7000. I have tried installing the integration from GitHub that uses the Sony API, but that doesn’t work and the API was discontinued years ago (I think in 2021/2022?), so I’m wary of using that as a long-term solution. I tried getting the IR codes from the remote and while it detects the IR codes, the soundbar is not responsive when Remote 3 and base try to power on or off the soundbar. I have tried repositioning both items and have reset the soundbar fully (including updating it’s firmware). Nothing seems to work.
Has anyone had any luck getting these Sony Soundbars to work with their Remote 3? This is literally the last piece and it’s making everything else unusable without me manually dealing with the soundbar every time (the opposite of what I’m trying to achieve here).
There are two integrations for Sony audio devices. Have you tried both?
If they both don’t work, is this you only IR device? Try to change the position of the dock or connect the blaster (puck-sized, connect it while the dock is powered off) as the puck has a more wider range than the dock that is optimized to be placed more near to devices.
I did, unfortunately neither worked. I think the “sonyavr” integration isn’t for soundbars anyway, from what I read on GitHub, but I did try it anyway. The other integration basically says it’s for my soundbar, so I was especially optimistic there… ! But, it didn’t work either. And the fact that the IR codes don’t work is also baffling…
