Screen Remote 3 automatically activating regularly

The problem of the battery of the Remote 3 draining faster than expected is a known issue, but I’m looking for tips on settings to reduce the battery usage as much as possible.

My Remote is on Software version 2.7.0 and the dock is on version 0.8.1

Problem 1. I can’t seem to permanently disable the New reconnect logic (Developer option). Once I turn it off, it re-enables itself automatically (no matter if I restart the remote or not)

Problem 2. The screen is activated automatically on a regular basis and the remote is using 5% battery per 2 hours, without me using it. Wakeup sensitivity is on High, I set the display timeout to 12 seconds and the sleep timeout to 1min 30sec

Am I missing some important settings here or is the remote in need of some software optimisation?

Your second problem should be solved with 2.7.2 which was released today

Thank you. That’s good timing.

I’ll update the firmware and test if that solves my problem(s).

That Bug still exists even in 2.7.2.

Wakeup appears exactely 10 minutes after sleep-time.

Sleep-time: 30 min; wakeup after 40 min

Sleep-Time: 20 min; wakeup after 30 min

Sleep-time: 10 min; wakeup after 20 min

These might be another device or your router waking up the remote. The fix was for internal reasons the remote might woke up.

Didn’t time it from my side, but i noticed the remote waking up several times yesterday as well after installing 2.7.2

Will monitor more over the weekend.

Yesterday I took remote and dock to a friend of mine.

He has complete different WLAN-Devices and a different Router.

After connecting Dock3 to his router we had the same problem as on my router:

Wakeup appears exactely 10 minutes after sleep-time.

So it is an bug inside the software.

I assume you have keep WiFi connected enabled? Does this also happen when you disable this option?

Yes you are right (keep WiFi connected enabled).

Disabeling it doesn’t wake up the remote.

Today I saw that the remote is still activating the screen on its own (haven’t timed it though), but I get the impression that the battery lasts longer now.

Just to be sure: the power saving setting “Keep wifi connected in standby” is set to ‘Off’ (had that setting turned off from the beginning) and “Prevent sleep“ is set to ‘Off’ in all of my activities.

I’ll keep monitoring and will report back if I’ve got new findings.

If Keep wifi connected in standby is disabled it’s maybe the gyroscope. Can you try to set the wakeup sensitivity to the lowest value and monitor if the screen still activates itself?

Ihave the same isssue. Remote wake up automatically. I am using home asistant and Apple integrations.

I just installed firmware 2.7.3 and -as far as i see up to now- the problem is gone.

I haven’t seen the remote wake up on its own either, since I installed this last update. It looks like that solved the problem.

In my case, even with the last update (Beta 2.7.3) the remote wake up regulary without move it

With version 2.7.3 the problem is still there, but not as before at regular intervals (always 10 minutes after sleep time) but irregularly (4 times in 7 hours).

I also saw that behaviour today. Not as frequent, but its still waking up on its own from time to time (with and without a running activity)

Anyway, the battery most certainly lasts longer now.
