I have the Remote 3 (to replace an old Harmony remote) and I have the bluetooth talking to Fire TV, but I’m struggling to get the various keys sorted. I am using the default bluetooth profile, and have registered the remote as a keyboard in my fire TV.
Specifically:
on the Harmony the “back” button - I get the feeling from playing last night that this maps to pressing Esc on the keyboard, I will check again tonight, but can anyone confirm?
the Exit button - on the Harmony remote that gets me out of any app and back to Prime, but I can’t work out any key press to do that from the Remote 3
The Remote 3 has a single play/pause button - what do I map that to for Fire TV? On the Harmony there were two buttons…
Actually, I guess the first question is whether I am even using the right profile I’d rather not go via Home Assistant and ADB if I can avoid it, too many ways for it to go wrong
I have started down this path, but actually seem to have an issue with the Fire TV box itself, even the Fire TV app on my phone is struggling to connect. In fact I only got the 4 digit PIN prompt once, and it rejected my attempts to enter it.
So, one step forward, three steps back. I will persevere with getting the official app to work, then swap back to your integration @M.a.S.e
You know what - I think it is my crusty old gen 2 Fire Tv - it is 8.5 years old. Well, it is the Back Friday sales, so time for an upgrade. After spending this much on the Remote 3, a new Fire TV stick is barely anything
I recognized that this integration is deactivated with every new firmware release.
Other integrations remain active.
The IP address and code must be re-entered each time.
Is there any way to change this?
