Remote 2 Replacement Battery

Where can I buy a replacement battery for my Remotes 2 and how much does it cost?

The current battery has swollen and pushed out the bottom of the keypad.

You should contact the support at support@unfoldedcircle.com and place it in a fireproof box.
I’m not sure if the remote can be repaired if the battery has already swollen as it could have damaged parts of the PCB that sits between the battery and the keypad.

I’ve pulled it out it’s case and it still works fine. Just need to replace the battery.

I’ve heard it’s a LP4141110 battery. Maybe you can confirm, since yours is out.

Pretty hard to obtain, at least as far as I’ve seen. Would be interested in one as well for the future

Yes, that is the model number, but couldn’t find one of the appropriate dimensions as it seems to be specific to the Unfolded Circle Remotes

Hm. That isn’t exactly future proof I’d say.. oh well

Did you contact UC already?

Quick question … how did you remove it? These are supposed to be user replaceable and I am having battery issues as well (not swollen but not holding a charge well).

Yes, I contacted them on Saturday. Waiting to hear back.

There was a YouTube video on how to remove the remote housing.

There is hole on the back of the remote that you use a pen or a SIM card pin to push in and then slide the touch screen &keypad towards the top of the remote. In the video it seemed to slide out easily but for me it was really stiff because of the swollen battery.

Thanks … can get it open but not sure how to remove the battery from the circuit board (UC has pulled the instructions from their website and I can’t find the YouTube video). I have a broken screen R2 that’s not worth fixing (by the time you add shipping, exchange and service fee) so was going to swap batteries if I can figure it out.

Putting it back together is a bit risky. You can brick it apparently. I’ve heard that was the reason they removed the video.

I also broke the screen. It was €150 including shipping in Netherlands

I’ve connected the battery a few times now and also slid it into the case without the battery to check whether it is just the battery causing the issue. Fits fine without the battery and still worked fine after I removed it again and reconnected the battery, so once I get a battery that isn’t swollen I think I’ll be fine putting it all back together.
