Hi,
how is your experience with the battery consumption of the R3? I’m a little bit surprised that if I do not charge it in the dock overnight that there is a loss of 15%. What is your experience?
Thanks!

I always put the remote back in the dock when I’m not using it and always leave it on the dock overnight, so it rarely has a chance to drain that much.
Almost 15% (I measured more around 12%) only if you have an activity with prevent sleep running. If not it is less than 5% in my experience.

Ok, thanks for the feedback.
Two questions:
Because, it takes maybe 2 seconds to reconnect, before I can i e. press the pause button. If I take the remote in my hands after it was laying on the table, I can see first the wireless sign striked through in red in the upper right corner.
Within each activity, there is an option called „Prevent sleep“ that can be activated.
The behaviour you are describing above indicates you are currently not using this option.
Are you saying that battery drain is 15% per hour with your current setup (i.e. without prevent sleep). That would be very high.
No, I wrote 15% over night. Per hour would be really bad.
Understood. I always put my remote back into the dock at night. 15% overnight just laying around without an activity running seems on the high side but not totally unreasonable. Btw, are you using a R2 or R3?
Btw, thanks for the hint. I have set the switch “percent sleep” . Let’s see what this means for battery drain.
I use Remote 3
That will certainly increase battery drain significantly but the remote will be more responsive and you do not need to wait for the remote to reconnect to the network.
Battery drain will be >= 10%/h if an activity with “prevent sleep” is running. I will not change anything if no activity is running.
Ralf
OK thanks!
