R3 only successfully charges in dock about 50% of the time and when fully discharged it will never charge in the dock at all and can take days to come back from the dead in “normal” charges.
anyone run into this? Can’t post current firmware as remote is currently inaccessible.
What is your Dock firmware? You can see it on the display if you tap the button on the top a few times.
I can’t seem to get anything other than the IP to display.
You need to tap the button multiple times to toggle through all informations.

Your dock firmware is outdated and known to cause charging issues. If you can’t access the remote web configurator to update the dock firmware you can also open http://dockip/update and upload the 0.8.1 release file from here: Release v0.8.1 · unfoldedcircle/ucd3-firmware · GitHub

When I enter just the IP I get a dock details screen.
But if I add the /update, I get “failed To read existing file”.
Add another slash after update: http://dockip/update/
I’m getting a userID and password prompt. I never set that up, so click OK to get past that.
It seems to accept that but I don’t progress past 7%

Thank you so much. That did the trick. Well, it got the dock updated, remote still won’t take a charge, but the help is greatly appreciated all the same.
Are you using the cable that came with the Dock? What are the chargers specs? (amperage/voltage)
Yes using the cord that came with it. Can’t reach block at the moment, but it worked fine for a year plus with the R2 and for 4-5 months with the R3.
I’ve also tried connecting the remote to multiple different MagSafe chargers and no luck there either.
Pretty sure it’s just dead, but can’t get any sort of response from support.
