The need for, and implementation of, the PIN Code does not make sense. There should be a means to specify “No PIN code needed”. I’m on my home’s WiFi network, there’s no need for “security” with a 4-digit code.
Additionally, this code being a randomly changing thing that I can’t set for myself to something I’ll remember (even 0000).. I don’t get it.

The PIN only changes with a factory reset or when it is changed on the remote. I use the same PIN for 2 years, 1.5 years and 6 month on my remotes. But I would also like disable.

I think mine resets on Remote reboot as well. Or maybe it’s just it shows it as obscured “****” text and I have to click on the Refresh button which assigns a new value.
But either way, it keeps jumping and I have to physically check the remote, as the number is just random, and not memorable for me.
A case of “masquerading as security” but in reality it just creates a nuisance.
Reboot does not change PIN. If you look into configuration it is just hidden like when you login on a lot of web sites. Simply write it down somewhere or create a new one until it is something you can remember. I have a good number memory.

The pin seems to change randomly for me. Or at least, it logs me out randomly and I have to go and look at the pin again. I don’t know if it’s the same pin or not because I don’t bother to remember it. Would love a way to disable, or set to something static!
The PIN does not change without an action from you. It changes if you create a new one or after a factory reset. I still use the PINs of my 2 R2 since more than 2 years and R3 for around a year now.
But the wish is very old and I can understand it.

if you press to show the pin, you actively change it. press again, show the pin then write it down or remember it. the pin will not change. i am using the same pin for more then a year.
