So for some reason my Android TV integration doesn’t work sometimes if the TV is off an I have to manually turn it on. I have a IR remote of the tv so I could turn it on via IR but I really would like to start the activity either way even if the normal Turn On command fails.
If I’m in the sequence tab I want a little checkmark to mark a action as optional to launch the activity.
Or if I’m in the sequence tab add the option for an if statement. For example: if integration not available → send ir command else start activity
I don’t know if it’ would just be good for me of if there is another way I haven’t seen but I thing if statements would be a great addition either way
You could always use IR to switch it on
But be aware that it can take several minutes until you can use the IP integration. In my case with Philips it takes around 6 minutes.

Sadly my remote doesn’t have seperate on and off commands. So if the tv is already on it turns it off. IR should just be the last option as it doesn’t work really great with the remote itself and the dock often loses WIFI connection. Currently waiting on my poe switch so I can use it with poe
Mostly the Android TV integration turns the tv on when I pick up the remote from the dock but sometimes it just doesn’t load directly until I restart the remote. Sometimes it works again when the tv is turned on manually and sometimes it just doesn’t work for like 2 hours.
Apple TV always directly works and never had an issue with it
but even if the android tv integration works for me or not I still thing if statements would be a great addition
Do you use TV for watching TV? If not CEC could be an option.
I have a tv with android tv and only use either the Apple TV or the shield for atmos content.
So I mostly only need to turn on the tv and switch to hdmi 1 or 2 And that’s it. Hdmi switching is done through home assistant and works good so maybe the tv turning on or off should also use home assistant in my case
