My personally valuation of the Unfolded Circle 3

Hi!
First of all: the remote is nice and works perfect!

  • the design of the remote is great, altough it would be better for me to have 4 phyiscal colour buttons eg for teletext or functions of a vuplus (so I have to put them on the touch screen).
  • I’m happy that I can define sequences and use them in different actions - eg turn on/off projector, screen down/up etc. With Logitech Harmony or Sofabaton you have to double and triple these sequences every time.
  • Also the integration in homeassistant is good.
  • I like to configure everything via web interface and not by app.
  • The remote looks noble and it is good to use.
  • The touch screen is great enough to settle buttons, sequences, tv-logos etc and works pretty good

All in all - it’s a very good product.

But lets go to the really worst characteristic of the remote - it’s the battery life time!
When using it how a remote has to be used (you take the remote in the hand and push buttons and they should work immediately) you have to configure the remote not to go in standby.
With this configuration, the battery drains just by lying on the table and doing nothing with nearly 5% per hour. When using it every now and then, the remote will be on low battery within a few hours.
This is not acceptable! The Logitech Harmony works some days without loading it. The Sofabaton X2 is working for 2 weeks without loading.
I would by satisfied if the battery holds 2 days without loading.

The main problem is either a to weak battery or respectively to much wastage, or in my opinion the complete wrong technical concept of the remote.
Actually all operations are done by the remote by itself.
It would be much better to delegate the operations to the dock via bluetooth and only transfer media content (which I believe this is the exception) via wifi.
This concept is done by Logitech and Sofabaton - both have no negative issues with battery life.
Maybe there is a possibility to solve this problem which I believe is a problem for all users.

Keep on going your great work!
