Hi Unfolded Developer Team,
First of all, a big thank you — I’m using the Remote 3 every day now and absolutely love it.
I currently have 3 Remotes in use and 2 more on order.
Thanks to Profiles, I’ve already replaced all 6 of my Logitech Harmonys — brilliantly done! ![]()
The issue
There’s one big thing that keeps tripping me up: the Media Control slider.
In practice, this happens:
-
The slider appears and sometimes stays on screen, making the remote partially unresponsive — most a reboot helps or switch to home screen and back to current activity.
-
The slider often adjusts the wrong volume. Example: on Apple TV it changes the Apple TV volume, but I’d actually want it to control my TV or SONOS/AVR.
-
The slider sometimes doesn’t work at all — no reaction — and then suddenly works again.
Since this happens on all three of my Remotes, I’m confident it’s not a hardware issue, but rather a software bug.
-
Because of these issues, I’ve removed the Media Control entirely, even though I really like the view with cover art and TV logos.
My request
-
Short term:
Add an option to disable the slider completely (globally or per page/activity).
→ This would allow us to use the nice cover/logo view again without accidental or unreliable volume changes.
-
Mid term:
Make the slider configurable — let us choose its target freely:
-
volume of a specific device/AVR
-
brightness of a lamp
-
or even media seek/progress
-
-
Optional:
Add a “volume target lock” per activity, ensuring that both slider and hard buttons always control the same target entity.
I’d be very happy to test beta builds and provide feedback if that helps with development.
Thanks so much for taking a look — the Remote 3 is already a real game-changer, and with an optional or configurable slider, it would be perfect for my setup.
Best regards,
Helmut
