Magsafe magnet adapter available

I designed a 3d printed adapter so you can add magsafe magnets to the remote 3.

Proper alignment is important for wireless charging to work efficiently (or at all). Magsafe ensures alignment, and gives the added benefit of a providing a mount for the remote with your magsafe mount of choice.

This adds magnets to the remote using a 3d printed adapter less than 1mm thick. It is strong enough to hold the remote upside down.

The file is available for free here. You will need some magsafe magnets and double sided tape, which are easy to find online and are linked on the file website.

If you don’t have a 3d printer or don’t want to buy two sets of magnets and new rolls of tape,email me and I can print and assemble one for you inexpensively.

very creative and well executed. really like also your couch mount, no issues with overheating due to the magnets?

Not so far. Apple designed the MagSafe system in a way that avoids interference so I assume that helps here.

If anything, I’d expect less heating since an offset coil will induce inefficiency / heat, but this keeps them perfectly aligned.
