MadVR Envy Integration

I am releasing my latest integration for MadVR
madVR Envy is a high-end, dedicated video processor designed for home theaters that dramatically improves picture quality by performing advanced tasks like frame-by-frame HDR tone mapping, AI-powered 4K upscaling, and sophisticated motion smoothing.

This integration will provide 2 entities: Media Player entity (used for state pulling ONLY as the MadVR device doesn’t have a dedicated power on function, we need the empty Media Player to do that for us). And a full function Remote entity with all buttons exposed in the UI.

This is another “Blind” integration where i used a simulator as i do not own the device therefore cannot test, if there are any issues you must replicate explicitly and provide exact time stamps to review the log (logs can be overwhelming, the exact time help me pin point). Enjoy. Please read README.md carefully.

Thanks so much for putting this integration together!! I was beginning to feel like a stepchild, trying to control my madVR with my Remote3 using IR codes (with haphazard results). Got the integration installed last night and updated my activities - is working well so far!!

Hehe. You welcome. Glad it is helpful to you.

The best part for me is now being able to put the madVR in standby mode reliably using the Remote3. Sending the IR code from the Remote3 was very hit or miss (most of the time the madVR ignored the Standby IR and stayed on, even with the R3 miniblaster stuck right to the front of the madVR IR bluetooth receiver).

Nice! that is aweosme news

M.a.S.e is a hardworking member of our community. His many intergrations have really made the R3 what it is….a powerful smart remote. Many people have been able to completely elimate using IR because of his work.

Feel free to show your support and by him a coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/meirmiyara

Hi @M.a.S.e and other Envy-Users,

some „strange“ behavior and i don`t know if only i am wrong ort others too: All went fine with Envy-Integration. But randomly the envy does not wake up after sending the WOL-command. This happens within the Activity (starting squence) and with single command. Is it possible in any way to send the WOL-package as long as the envy receive the command? Same behavior with WOL-command by http-integration of @kennymc.c

Many thanks for helping out and @M.a.S.e for this awesome integration. Mostly used🙏🏼

BR Peter

i apologize, i dont understand this statement. also, no logs….

The integration is working very smoothly for me without any issues.

Have you already installed the latest update on the Envy?

My Envy Core received one that fixed the Wake-on-LAN issue.

The problem was with the Envy, not the integration.

Thanks for reply. Yes, i think so, i am on FW 2.0.1. It came directly from madshi. What i do not know exactly, if the FW-states are all the same for all Envy Models. I have an Extreme, you too?

@M.a.S.e Thanks for asking. I will provide logs on discord, when i figured out, if this behaviour is only in my case or it is general.

Sound good man, keep me posted. discord is always better.

Sure, i know. Thanks in advance. Will report back…:folded_hands:t3:

I’ve been able to set up the integration just fine. Thanks for the work. However I’m also having power management issues. I can toggle power through Home Assistant, but I’m trying to completely run off of native integrations. My AVA remote also handles IP control of the Envy just fine.

I’ve set up a custom MadVR Remote on my activities pages and everyting works great, I just can’t get a wake on lan to work I guess. Even if I use standby mode command for the off sequence, I still can’t get anything in UCR3 setup to get it to wake up.

I finally got around to setting up my UC Remote 3 and having trouble powering on my MadVR Core from standby state. Is there anything special I need to do? Power off - i.e. going into standby state as part of the power off sequence is working fine.
