Hello,
Here is my second issue with my Remote3: I have created the following devices:
TV LG G3: Device profile = LG WebOS TV → controlled by bluetooth
AV receiver Marantz SR7011: Denon integration → controlled by IP
Internet box (Android): Device profile = Generic Android → controlled by bluetooth
Blu-ray disc player Magnetar UDP800: Device profile = controlled by infrared
When all devices are off, I can switch on the AV receiver, the internet box and the blu-ray disc player, but not the TV. The remote3 displays “Unavailable” under the TV device (which is disabled) and it’s impossible to chose this device. Off course, I can switch on the TV when I use the LG original remote and then the device becomes available.
Do you have an idea to solve this issue in order to be able to switch on le LG TV with the remote3?
Thank you.
Do you have multiple Bluetooth connections enabled?
I’m away from home ATM, but by memory it’s located in development features in the settings of the web configurator.
Hi,
check if Power on LG remote is really BlueTooth and not IR. On my Philips they mixed commands on the original remote. Some are IR and some are BlueTooth. To check hide the remote somehow and press Power. In my case I added the IR Power in addition to the other commands to my activity.
For LG there is also an IP integration available. See here Supported devices
If your Internet Box uses Android TV and not plain Android I would rather use the Android TV IP integration.
I have the G2 and the same problem. I just checked with the original remote and power on/off is apparently sent via IR, a simple cushion blocked the signals and with a clear line of sight, the TV was powered on instantly.
There is a separate LG TV entity already built-in, which works via IR and does so reasonably well.
As for the IP integration for LG, where would I find this, @HarmonyFan ? It says so on the support page but when I add an integration on the actual remote, there is nothing listed.
Some integrations in that list like the LG are from community devs. You must click on the name then you are directed to the github page and there on the right side you find a link the the integration releases. In case of the LG it is
you must download the tar.gz and this must be uploaded to the remote.
Thanks for pointing that out, I read “unfolded OS” but did not really realise that it is a proper OS that you could extend and/or modify. I uploaded the custom LG integration but unfortunately, it did not find my LG TV, despite switching on all “quick-start”/“always-on” features on the TV. The LG is connected via Wifi and the network test was positive.
Anyone here has successfully connected an LG TV with the IP integration?
