Key presses to IR kit sometimes missed

Having got the R3 working with solely IR boxes, for sometime I was frustrated with commands being intermittently missed. e.g. pressing up/down 5 times the cursor would only move 4 times. Thinking it was a WiFi network problem I tried moving docks and then connecting via Ethernet, changing the R3 from auto to 2.4G/5G but nothing seemed to help.

Going through the R3 WiFi & Bluetooth settings I disabled the Active WiFi scanning which was set to 10 seconds and my problem is now solved. I don’t know if this setting is default or if I tried this when investigating an earlier WiFi problem. I can only think that the missing commands were when the active scanning took place.

Does this sound possible?

Might be. I think this option was added for some WiFi systems.

If you only have IR there is also the possibility to let the R3 itself send the code and connection to Dock is not neccessary.

Yes, I tried that but my TV is just on the edge of the R3’s IR range, so the dock is better.

I must say now I’ve sorted this dropped command problem the Remote 3 is working great.

Was a massive learning curve getting to this point. I can understand people getting frustrated and giving up.
