Is Nvidia Shield press and hold 'quick' navigate possible

I notice that when I use the ‘native’ remove for the NVidia Shield and hold left or right it quickly scans through the apps, but when I hold the right or left on the Remote Two it just repeats ‘right’ and ‘left’ … the effect is pretty janky navigation when I want to scroll through a lot of menu items.

Is it possible to emulate a real hold when navigating right left up down?

I really really wish it would, but I cannot find any way to make that work unfortunately. There is no setting to increase the repeat frequency. It sucks.
