IR Support for Revox devices (B250, B215, B226 etc.) - works in Logitech Harmony Elite

While it sounds like your problem is probably related to the IR format used by the Revox devices, it might be worthwhile checking some basics:

  • Have you selected the correct output device in the settings of the IR entities?
  • If you are using the IR extenders or blaster, check (in the Web UI or directly) if they have been correctly discovered by the dock.
  • Have you tried to learn codes using the original remote controls?
  • Play around with the positioning of the IR output device. I have an old Meridian CD player which is very fiddly to operate with IR as it does not detect commands sent from sideward angle.

Hi - thanks a lot for your response, here is what I did:

  • Have you selected the correct output device in the settings of the IR entities?
    –> yes, did try all kind of outputs, single ones, blaster small and tall, all of the outputs

  • If you are using the IR extenders or blaster, check (in the Web UI or directly) if they have been correctly discovered by the dock.
    –> good point, but all was shown correct in the dock settings

  • Have you tried to learn codes using the original remote controls?
    –> yes, and the error code on the small display on the dock showd “IR learning unknown”

  • Play around with the positioning of the IR output device. I have an old Meridian CD player which is very fiddly to operate with IR as it does not detect commands sent from sideward angle.
    –> I did all kinds of movements, no success either :frowning:

Hi there - after trying another setup using Homeassistant and Broadlink RM4 Pro, I can confirm IR codes from the Remote Revox B208 (supporting devices B250, B215, B226, B200) are not compatible with the RM4 at all. Neither learning codes nor using pronto codes are working :frowning:

But another idea I came across was the use of Global Caché iTach IP2IR…..but maybe someone has tried hat out (before I spent another €200.—or so) and could share some experiences?

- Can anyone confirm from their own experience that the iTach IP2IR (emitter/blaster) reliably transmits the Revox B208 codes to the B250/B215/B226/B200?

- Was the programming done directly from the B208 using iLearn, or was PRONTO (RemoteCentral) used?

- Did you need to adjust the repeat/offset settings?

- What risks or errors were encountered (e.g. unmodulated/timing)?

Who knows, maybe one day I can actually send Logitech Harmony Hub in retirement :blush:
