I dont understand what i am doing wrong , but i cant get UC remote to control my devices thru IR .
In entities i choose infrared , then add new IR , and when i name it , i start lerning it . I name the button ( lets say OK button ) , start learning , i press with original remote Ok button , dock finds the hex code , i test the button , it says that the test was ok and i save it .
But then when i set up buttons for this device and when i send new intity to the UC remote and i use the buttons that the UC remote learned , nothing happens .
Can someone who knows more about this then me please help with some advice .
Thanks
Got it to work finaly .
What u did wrong was i didnt put dock or ir blaster close enough to the device i want to control .
In my case , the dock or ir blaster must be very , very close to the devices i want to control thru ir .
Hi.
I know that problem and here is my solution. After that i reach a distance between blaster and device about 6 m.
Preliminary note:
In its original state, the three IR diodes are mounted at a 45° angle to the circuit board, tilted outwards.
Each IR diode has a radiation angle of 20°. This means the IR blaster emits more radiation laterally than straight ahead.
Solution:
My solution is to align the IR diodes perpendicular to the circuit board to achieve maximum transmission power with a direct line of sight.
To do this, the top cover of the IR blaster must be removed. This can be easily done with a sharp knife. Insert the tip into the gap between the cover and the housing and pry the cover upwards. This can be done easily without damaging the cover or the blaster.
Now, carefully bend the three IR diodes into a vertical position by hand.
Then, carefully press the cover back onto the housing. It will audibly and noticeably click into place.
Done.
Yes, I found a lot of my problems were solved by getting the dock/blaster into the best position.
As the Dock itself is not very strong the blaster is maybe not sending any signal. Have you checked that the blaster is recognized by the dock? The dock doesn’t support hot plugging and you need to connect any device while the dock is powered off.
