IR codes data base

does anyone know if there are plans for an IR data base like Harmony had?i f seems like this has been possible for several years.

Logitech bought harmony with a database and their user made it bigger.

You know this Database:

GlobalCache

Yes. I have been unsuccessful with importing bulk ir codes. The instructions vary across the community. Do you have any suggestions?

You have to open the file and change some things. It’s been years since I’ve done this, but there should be older articles describing the process. I can look it up later when I’m home, if you still need help. But the global cache files work without a hitch once you figure out the coding/format.

Yes, I am also interested in the process to change the GlobalCache format to the Remote 3 format.

For example the POWER_TOGGLE of the JBL Soundbar:

GlobalCache:
“POWER_TOGGLE”,“sendir,1:1,1,38000,1,69,341,171,21,21,21,21,21,63,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,63,21,21,21,21,21,63,21,21,21,63,21,63,21,63,21,21,21,63,21,63,21,63,21,63,21,63,21,63,21,63,21,63,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,1617,341,85,21,3660”,“0000 006D 0022 0002 0155 00AB 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0651 0155 0055 0015 0E4C”,

Remote 3:
“POWER_TOGGLE”,“HEX”,“3;0x212EFF00;32;0”

For single codes just use the Pronto code. That’s the last code that is divided into multiple segments of 4 characters.
But it’s easier to import whole code sets when you validated your account. For this you need to copy the content of the mail into a plain text editor (not word) and change function to key and code2 to code in the first line. Then save it as a csv file.

I have done above, but get the following message:

Upload success

0 records have been processed: 0 have been added and 0 records have been updated.

SOLVED:
Changed function in “key” and hexcode1 in “code”.

For a single code or a code set? Single codes have to be entered manually.

A code set.

I have downloaded the whole code set of the JBL Soundbar BAR series.
Copied the content of the mail to Notepad.
Changed function in key and code2 in code.
Saved the file and changed the extension from txt to csv.
Tried to upload this csv file in a new clean IR entity.

SOLVED:
Changed function in “key” and hexcode1 in “code”.

I’d have to look at what I’ve done in the past. But I will ask…did you change the extension properly? Do you maybe have “common” extensions hidden? Assuming you’re using Windows. If so, the file would be technically have been named “.csv.txt”. Enable all file extension types to make sure it is indeed a .csv file.

This has worked for me in the past:

function, code1, hexcode1, code2, hexcode2

This is the header from global cache. What do I need to change?

Change function in “key” and hexcode1 in “code”.

The suggestion is a good one. Right now incorrect codes and additions are submitted through GITHUB bugs & feature requests. An easier import for Global Cache codes was planned, but not implemented yet.

Optimally there would be a bigger database AND a sample remote entity for each device which would make the remote as a whole much easier to setup & use.

Yes here in the community is a instruction.

Convert GlobalCache to Unfolded

Are there any videos of importing bulk IRs? I’ve tried several instructions from these forums with no success. I even downloaded the unfolded template but didn’t work. My cable box from 20+ years ago had a book for the remote with IR codes in it!!

What exactly did you do to import the csv file? I saw some people that just requested a single code which doesn’t work as a csv file.

I pasted bulk global cache codes to text editor and changed the headers to key and code and saved as a csv file.

By bulk codes you a referring to a single command or a code set? Please post the content of your csv file
