IP vs. IR integration

Hi there. I fiddled around a lot with my new remote 3. First I integrated all my devices by IP integration. Samsung TV, Denon Receiver, Horizon TV Box.

This leaded to severe problems while watching TV and TV recording. The problems where much bigger with TV recordings. While this it was nearly impossible to use the remote. The screen of the remote stocked and the hardware buttons didn’t work.

Then I changed the horizon box to IR. This helped. The screen of the remote wasn’t this laggy anymore but still not usable. And the hardware buttons for the receiver worked only somtimes. For example the mute button didn’t work at all.

Then I also added my receiver by IR. No everything works.

For me it seems like there is a data overflow while using IP connected devices. I used the unfolded circle integration for the Denon and the github integration for the Horizon Box.

Anyone else has made the same experience? In my mind one of the best benefits of Unfolded Circle is the IP integration of the devices. But is this really working for you?

The problem with IR integration is, that there are only a few commands built in and for example vor my AVC-X4700h I can’t find some IR codes on remote central. But all needed commands are available with the IP integration.

Looking forward to read from you.

As you were already told in your other thread, please report this issue to the developer of the Horizon integration (@M.a.S.e). Logs from the integration would also be helpful (Settings/Development/Logs, choose the Horizon integration from the services dropdown).

I’ll do, that. But because it’s not only horizon integration related but also nativ denon integration relatet it would be interesting to know, what other users experience with IP integrations.

I have no performance problems with the Denon or any other integration. Have you tried to factory reset the remote?

I also have no problems with integration (Denon, Android-TV, Fire-TV).

The only IR-device is my TechniSat STB because for him there is no integration.
