My Remote 2 has been working great since I received. Last night my Apple TV now says it’s unavailable. It shows as Active in Web Config but looks offline in remote itself under devices.
My Sonos is also now experiencing issues, it shows Active in Web Config and also in remote itself under devices. When I start an activity it indicates 5/5 volume and I am an unable to adjust volume in Activity. If I switch to Device menu I can adjust volume?
I have factory reset the remote and hub. Then restore my settings in remote and cannot progress past above issues.
Is this something anyone has any ideas on how to recover from or am I going to have to start a fresh and take lots of screenshots of the Web Config pages?
PS Not sure what option to select when creating logs.
The problems with the Apple TV integration could be due to the recent tvOS 18 update. The only solution for this currently seems to re configure the integration and then replace the new entity with the old one in all activities and macros. This is caused by a change of the MAC address of the Apple TV that is used in the id of the Apple TV entity. Beta versions didn’t have this behavaior as far as I can see and also not also users with the final version.
There is a bug ticket for the library that is used by the integration: After tvOS 18.0, MAC address of an AppleTV is detected differently than its real network MAC. · Issue #2503 · postlund/pyatv · GitHub
You can see if it’s the mentioned issue if you compare the id of the Apple TV entity (click on the edit button in the integration setting, id starts with uc_appletv_driver.main) with the Mac address shown in the Apple TV network settings. I noticed that if you paired the Apple TV with an earlier version of the integrations it’s not using the Mac address but a different id of the device. So maybe that’s why not all users are affected. I just updated one of my Apple TVs that had the Mac address in the name and it was already different before the update and I got the same error as you.
I’ll reread your instructions again as I’m having no luck. My Apple TV was called uc_appletv_driver.main and it remains that after running the setup again. Wish I hadn’t updated the ATV now, no idea why it has buggered my Sonos too?
The Mac address are the numbers after .main in the id.
What I noticed is that the Mac address used here is completely different from the one in the Apple TV network settings. That seems to cause the issue with wrong entity id.
To fix this first remove the device by re running the integration setup and choose the remove option with the correct device. Then run the setup and paring process again to add a new device which should have the correct id.
My ID didn’t have a MAC so it took a bit of fiddling to work out the logic. I now have two entities. Broken Apple TV and new Living Room. I’ll re-map all the buttons to new entity and it looks like it’s going to work. The Sonos works after power cycling the sound bar.
Thanks for your time and advice, so happy I don’t have to start from scratch
