I successfully integrated version 0.14.0 for testing purposes. Unfortunately, I can’t select any entities afterwards.
During installation the IP-Adress isn’t asked.
What am I doing wrong?
BTW: I know that denon is inside the firmware and that is working perfect but that’s not the solution for my test.
Did you change the driver_id? Otherwise the integration will intefere with the internal version with the same id.
You are also aware that 0.14.0 is the same version that is also integrated into the current beta firmware 2.8.4/2.8.5?
I don’t know how/where to do so.
I just installed that version -as i said for some test- and “yes” i know about the integrated version. Howsoever i would like to install 0.14.0 or 0.13.9.
It’s in the driver.json file. Change it from denonavr to something else like denonavr-test.

But: Why those restrictions?
If i would like to use the integration from github i should be able to do so without any restrictions.
The remote has to know which integration to use for the entity commands.

Both versions have the same version (0.14.0) but that from github is restricted.
Why that?
It’s not restricted. It’s exactly the same version with the same id that runs on the remote. But you can’t run the same integration twice with the same id on the same remote. That applies to all integrations, not only the included integrations.

But i don’t want to run two integrations. I removed the firmware-integrated. After that i tried to install that from github with the written restrictions.
Internal cannot be removed. If you delete it you remove only the entities and it is not listed anymore. It is still sitting in the background.
Believe us I already tried it in 24 without success 
For a test changing the id is real simple but has a drawback. If you want to change back to the internal one you have to redo everything or use tricks.

Why is the use of the integration from GitHub being discouraged?
They were the first integrations to have a working base system. In the beginning uploading was not possible it was added end 24 I think. I might have read somewhere that firmware and integrations will be separate later.
I like to see the separation also because I only use Android TV, Bluetooth and Denon from the internal ones.
