You don’t need bt with sky steam now that the integration is done. You might have an issue because you using VPN. And I think that’s causing a network Layer problem
I know that , but unfortunately in my case i cant use your integration , as i must use vpn to watch sky stream , so bt or ir is solution . Unless their is a workaround for such cases , where UC remote and box are not on the same network , but they could still work ?
Bluetooth won’t work with Sky stream
Ok , thank you . Looks like my only chance to control Sky Stream with UC remote is IR .
Do i need to place Sky stream box beside the dock or i can have it 1 or 2 meters away ?
I tried teach the UC remote already , and dock accepted the button push from Sky remote and there was hex code , which i saved , but when i then tried it out , it didnt do anything . Very frustrating .
I teached my very old Pioneer Kuro tv remote to control AppleTv in like 5 minutes . Here , with this new tech , i am struglling now for almost a week and i am still at the beggining .
you can use/get a secondary dock and put its IR right next to the Sky Stream, that will work. Also, kindly asking - i know you are new and learning but please open a seperate thread, taking over this thread for personal support of a given device is not ideal for the porpuse of this thread. You asked for an integration, one was created for you - since you are using VPN its non functional for you (logically) but lets leave this thread for what it was created for
thank you.
I already proposed this a while ago but it could be interesting for future FireTV users as Amazon is shifting from Android based Fire OS to their own VegaOS platform for new devices. There is a developer info site: Get started with Vega Developer Tools
That’s a great idea! It would be really useful to see more device integrations. I’d definitely be interested in testing one if I had the right device. Hope you find a good project to work on!
Just to avoid irritation. Amazon writes this:
Is Vega going to replace Fire OS?
We’ve always been a multi-OS company. We have launched and will continue to launch new devices on Fire OS.
So FireOS will continue existing.
Well, let’s see if this proves to be true for upcoming new devices. I don’t trust Amazon here. It just doesn’t make any economic sense to maintain two operating systems for the same purpose. It’s also well known that the new OS is supposed to prevent sideloading, something Amazon has never liked.
Thank you. So far created about 50 integrations, check my Github. Regardless, check “Integration Manager” , many of us created so far about 120 integrations .
