Inconsistencies in Remote 3 working or not working

Hi.

I have the basics of the Remote 3 figured out for my simple setup - Google box streamer, an IR TV, and an IR A/V. I’m still missing some final touches, but it has worked once before.

But last time I tried it, I could not control the Google box from within the Activity at all - something that has worked in the past.

I select the Activity (called “Watch TV”), and I see the Google box widget I placed. When I use the arrow keys here (just as an example), nothing happens right now. When I click the Google box widget and try again, the arrow keys still are not working. Neither are any other buttons that are meant to control the box.

I manually configured the arrow keys within the Activity to control specific elements of the Google box, and again, it has worked before.

I’ve had an issue before where the Remote 3 would not display my changes from the web configurator before, and I had to reboot the Remote 3 to see the changes, so maybe that is an indication of something bigger…

The Google box (at this time) is still setup to control the TV and A/V through CEC until the Remote 3 is reliably working, but that should only affect TV and A/V, not whether the Remote 3 can control the Google box.

Is there anything I’m doing wrong, or do I have an issue with the remote?

Google box with Android TV I tegration or Bluetooth? Is the entity working?

Google box is using Android TV integration (I knew I was forgetting to mention something…). It was working before - I have not tested the Entity outside of the Activity - I will do that tonight.

If it is not working either take a look at the log of Android TV integration.

I finally got around to checking.

I had trouble getting the remote to connect to the Google Streamer - it kept saying it couldn’t connect even though both are on the same WiFi and both are clearly online.

But then I started the Activity (which “turned on” all devices which had already been on using my old remote) - and everything worked.
