My WiFi issues resurfaced and it’s now even worse. What’s the reason for disabling WiFi scanning? For me enabling or disabling doesn’t seem to make a difference. I’m basically not able to connect at all anymore.
I think it likely has something to do with my router. I’m pretty sure of this since I’m able to get a decent signal from my neighbor’s router while I’m not getting any signal strength from my router even though it is right next to the remote. Although I’m using a mesh system, I have disabled “self organizing network” and so my 2.4 and 6 GHz networks are separate. Anyone have any thoughts on what else I can do. All my other devices are connected to my router with no issue and so it is just the R3 that is having issues. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a way to configure port forwarding?
I ended up getting a new router and although the signal is better, I continue to get error messages when running activities such as no internal server, timeout, network error etc. my setup is a new Netgear Orbi 970 router with two satellites. The Orbi is in access point mode and is connected via Ethernet to a Verizon FiOS router. The Verizon router needs to be the primary router because you need it for TV, but I have fully disabled all WiFi channels on the Verizon router that the Orbi is connected to.
For 2.4 GHz, the router does not allow channels over 11 and so that part is fine. I have also enabled “keep active” when running activities.
Does anyone have any ideas on any adjustments I could make to my router or otherwise to improve performance?
