Hi all, it‘s about Remote 3. I received it early this year and started configuring. Then being busy with other things I left it docked with auto-updates active for some weeks. Now it’s just dead. None of the proposed actions to restore/reset it work (x seconds power, power and record, on a wireless charger or placed on the dock)… can any of the higher involved pros here help me by pointing to the right thread for this issue if such a thread exists? Any ideas?
Thanks, Mike
Can you ping the device? What does the Dock show when you place it in the Dock? I assume it hasn’t charged and the battery is dead.
No. It’s not online any longer. I also tried to charge it using a wireless charger. No effect neither. And the dock shows nothing since I reset it as well in the course of this journey (i docknis actually asking for wifi setup). There is one thread regarding charging issues after a certain firmware release, I suspect this having happened in my case, but since it’s totally gone, that is a chicken/egg…
I would reach out to UC Support … this is unusual.

The firmware update that fixes the charging issues was for the dock. You can still manually update the Dock firmware and try if this charges the remote as described here: Not Charging - useless remote · Issue #501 · unfoldedcircle/feature-and-bug-tracker · GitHub
Instead of the linked 0.7.0 release you should use 0.8.1. instead (Release v0.8.1 · unfoldedcircle/ucd3-firmware · GitHub) which is the latest release. There also is 0.8.2 but that only seems to be published in GitHub and so far and not on the OTA servers so it might not be stable.
