How to send multiple digits using Android TV integration

Hello, I recently received a new mediaplayer for Magenta TV and would like to add it in my Remote 3. It uses Android, so I figured the easiest way would be using the Android TV Integration, but I cannot seem to find a way to send multiple digits in order to switch TV channels. I read somewhere that I have to do it through Macros, but than again I don’t find a way to add a Macro to my Screen.

In the end I would love to have a screen with TV-Channel icons and when pressing it, it switches the channel by sending 3 digits after another.

How can I do this? I think I say this being able for IR Remotes, so is it that the ANdroid TV integration just cannot do this?

Besides macros that you first need to add to your activities like any other device you can also use the command sequence command to send a sequence of commands separated by commas. Make sure that you add the remote entity from the Android TV integration to your activity. Command sequences are much more convenient that creating a macros for each channel.

I use Magenta TV with Android tv on several devices. At the moment you must go the macro way. Create a macro called Sport 1 on channel 10 with

Digit_1

Delay 200

Digit_0

Now add the sport 1 macro entity to your tv activity and now you can add it to any page of you activity.

Sorry, dumb question: What do you mean with adding the remote entity from the Android TV integration? I can not find a dedicated Remote entity in the list of available Entities. Did I miss to add that somewhere? Or do you mean to add the actual IR Remote as another Entity? I can only find Command Sequenz for IR Devices..

I missed the point of adding the macro as entity.. Thank you!

Let’s see whether there is a way to use the command sequence, so I don’t have to set up macros for every channel, but at least I know have a plan B.

Thanks again!

I mistakenly though the Anroid TV integration already has a remote entity but it’s PR is still in review since 8 months Added remote entity in addition of media player entity by albaintor · Pull Request #90 · unfoldedcircle/integration-androidtv · GitHub

Klar.

Okay.
