Hi,
I’m trying to integrate my Zidoo Z9X 8K media player, but I’m struggling to understand how to do it.
I’ve read before that it should be “straightforward,” but I can’t get it to work. I installed the integration, but the player isn’t detected anywhere on my network. I assume there are additional steps required to make it available, but I don’t really understand the setup instructions — I have no experience with Python, Docker, or similar tools.
Would it be possible to install the Android TV Remote Service APK on the Zidoo and then connect it through the AndroidTV integration instead?
Unfortunately, none of the IR codes work either. I’ve tried using the codes provided here, learning them from the original Zidoo remote, and even using the Harmony IR library — no success so far.
Can someone please point me in the right direction or confirm whether this is possible at all?
I integrate with the same Zidoo model over Home Assistant, but it sounds like you don’t have that installed anywhere on your network. I haven’t tried the UC integration myself, but it may be as simple as telling it which IP address to find the Zidoo at. Also verify that the Zidoo is actively on the network (ideally over Ethernet). I’ve noticed that the Zidoo will periodically disconnect from my network.
Hi, I spent over 4-5 hours yesterday trying to get this right. I’ve zero experience on Home Assistant, HACS, Docker, VM, Github - so bear with me.
Finally got this to work by downloading the GitHub Tar.GZ code from UFC3 official integration page. And configuring it directly on the remote which uses IP to connect to Zidoo.
Can anyone give me detailed instructions on how to connect Zidoo through a Synology NAS driven docker. When I do follow the instructions I am able to use HACS to integrate Zidoo into the HA docker, I’m also able to get UFC3 added as an integration - but I’m unable to get any of the play, pause, up, down, etc entetites to work from the Zidoo. Any help?
The HA route is a bit more arduous, but you should be able to add the Zidoo “Media Player” entity to UC3, and pull it into any activity that you’d like. I found that route to be a bit flaky and harder to customize (toggle captions, etc).
If you want a bulletproof integration, I suggest you write scripts for each button/action and then add those to UC3.
I do not think that you could install the remote services and get an Android TV player. From what I read uses Zidoo plain Android like a tablet. BlueTooh might work.
