How do I control my PS4 with Remote 3 / turn ON/OFF or media playback controls?

Hi all,

I went through all the hoops and installed the Playstation Integration and set everything up, but all I can do is see all my player stats and gameplay activity in HA/R3. I guess the keyword here was Playstation Network Integration. Did I install the wrong thing as I see no controls? I don’t need the stats, I just want to turn on and off my PS4 and have media playback control on my R3 but all my searches come up with this PSN Integration. Could anyone point me in the direction to how to install PS4 device controls onto my R3 please? Am I missing a further step to integrate it into the R3 from HA that will allow me to control the PS4?

there is no playstation control integration, only currently playing games. playstation integration is currently not feasbile due to sony limitations, even with home assistant there is only turn off and on but require mqtt.

You can try this if you have home assistant, I got it sort of working when I had my ps4.

Thanks @fattykidd I think all those steps are a bit beyond my brain capacity for now, I already had a huge learning curve just learning about Home Assistant to get my R3 up and running - so I’m very new to that platform as well. Plus it’s a pretty limited controls after all that work. Thanks though.

Thanks @M.a.S.e I didn’t know, I guess that’s why there isn’t much that turns up on my search, always just the PSN data integration. I know now to stop trying.

I have the PDP PS4 Media Remote that connects to my PS4 via bluetooth, I guess there isn’t a way for the R3 to emulate this PDP remote?
