I just added a new integration into HA and it added one device with 3 entities. Its a ceiling fan with light and the entities are the FAN device/entity and the Fan entity and the Light entity. In HA all 3 entities are visible and controllable. But when I go into the R2 configurator the only entity that shows up is the Light.
I have other HA entities that have all shown up in R2 but this one is only letting me use 1 of the 3 entities.
Thanks for commenting so quickly. You have been a great help to me, and many others, in the past.
Yes, I see why the fan entity was not recognized by R2. But I ended up with a much better solution! The fan is a Hubspace fan and as such only interfaces with Alexa or Google. I have an HA integration that sends text to Google as if it was spoken to a Google Assistant. I had made scripts to turn on and off the fan and light using that “text” to Google. It works but depends on the linkage from Hubspace to Google which sometimes stops working, requiring a call to Hubspace support.
Up until now there was no HA integration for Hubspace. But it turns out that someone reverse engineered the communications that Hubspace needs and came up with a HA integration for Hubspace in the HACS. I am VERY much a neophyte in the HA area, but I was able to install it into HA and it worked. To get around the lack of fan control in R2 I set up scripts to simply do the fan and light operations in HA and R2 just “presses” the HA button entities. I realized that I could also do the same thing with a Lutron light so now my whole set up is DIRECTLY controlled by HA without the need of the devices to link to Google.
