I wish to create a page with five items: a media widget with “what’s showing” picture, the title of the movie, and an elapsed timeline. (R2 has a habit of lopping off the last two items if it doesn’t think there is enough room). At the bottom of the screen, I would like a row of four colored icon “dots” (90X90 pixels) to appear.
Thus far, I cannot seem to do it, so I ask your help.
In setting up the page, I have tried the following layouts:
4X6 --small pic, but no title or timeline; the 4 dots were placed on line 6 and showed up
5X3 – medium sized pic with title and timeline; no row was available to put the dots
5X4 – This should have worked IMO. It has three rows for the media widget, and one additional row for the dots. But strangely, R2 only displayed the media picture, and not the title or timeline. I don’t get it. Dots were okay.
5X5 – This has got to work right? Nope. With two extra rows beneath the media widget, R2 displayed a small picture only; no title, no timeline. The dots appear at the bottom as intended.
Well, I’ve stared at this too long; it has got to be simpler than I’m making it. If you come across a scheme that makes my simple design work, I’d love to hear about it. Thanks, J
2.2.3 has just been released and it mentions this fixed issue: " Media-player component in activities not showing progress bar in some configurations."
I guess you made the media widget page with the old web configurator, as the new one doesn‘t allow for media widget resizing anymore. In case you did it with the new web configurator: how?
If I may ask, @TeroS , what did you mean by this sentence? I found icons, then created generic text buttons and attach the “dots”. Is there a “natural” dot button somewhere?
Actually no: I used the new confiurator. And I simply selected the media widget, linked it with, in this case, Apple TV, and that was that. I did try to move and/or shrink it, but it did neither.
I was about to conclude that media widgets did not allow text buttons (aka the “dots”) beneath it. But @teros seems to have done it.
Thanks for your interest. I’m trying the 5X 6 grid now.
@kennymc.c , my R2 says I have V2.2.1, but it also says I’m up to date(?) I don’t use beta versions though. Maybe that’s the difference between our versions.
Since yesterday the progress bar of my media widgets was also missing with 2.2.3. Not sure what was causing this as it worked before with the same size of the widget (1x4, created with the old configurator where this was possible). As a workaround I deleted the widget and added it again with the new minimum size of 3x4.
