You should consider “integrations” as that is the whole point of this remote. The Fire TV integration will allow you to create whatever app button you want on the file as long as you find the package name (easy). if you dont want to use integration you are limiting yourself. but that is entirely your choice FireTV Integration - Direct IP (Not ADB/Bluetooth)
Sorry I forgot your integration. I had to remove to free an integration slot for your camera integration. Because of the 10 limit I must make a triage.
I used the integration but got too much problems with it. Nearly every day the integration is deactivated and i have to pair it again. So now i will use bluetooth.
The Problem with uc-intg-firetv-0.2.5 was that pairing was lost after each new firmware.
Now in uc-intg-firetv-0.2.8 that problem should be gone but now it deactivates itself each day without any reason.
Example: I watch FireTV and everything works fine. After some time i end the activity and go sleeping, placing the remote3 on it’s dock. Next morning the integration is deactivated and i have to pair it again.
I am not sure if it is still the case. When I started with FireTV via BlueTooth last year with each button press Fire TV showed “Bluetooth connected” and after a few seconds “Bluetooth disconnected”. This behavior can be changed with the API. Perhaps it is now standard not to disconnect I don´t know.
I don´t know if you are in discord http://unfolded.chat/ it is no. 1 place for information and you have direct contact to most community developer like M.a.S.e not everyone is hear reading too.
As many of my integrations i do not own the device, i write them blindly for the community.
so withoutlogs i cant help.
No one else shared the statement like you do expressing constant disconnect.
Also, there has been only 1 firmware upgrade since i released this integration. what do you mean by “every time i do a firmware upgrade”.
I undersrand if you prefer to use bluetooth (its user preference, this is not a paid job ) , however - if you want to debug your usecase, replicate it - come to discord and share teh logs. As mentioned, i do not own the device so some trial and error is expected.
btw. you can use BlueTooth and FireTV integration at the same time. While I thrown hunderst of logfiles to M.a.S.e I had my normal BlueTooth based FireTV activity and additionally a FireTV integration based one for debuging. I had to remove Fire TV integration because there is a limit auf 10 uploaded integration which I reached and I had to decide which are more important. I hope they increase the limit.
I started with Release 2.7.0. Then there was an update to 2.7.2 where the integration lost pairing. Short time later we got 2.7.3 and again the integration lost pairing.
After that you updated the integration to 0.2.8 which now has the written problem.
So here’s the log from last two days (04.12. and 05.12.) in one file. At 04.12. i paired the integration and today (05.12.) the pairing again is lost.
And here’s a Screen-Shot from my Web-Configurator:
the log you provided is from CORE logs, can you please send the integraion logs? (choose only the fire TV logs).
Each version fixes an issue reported by users, as I don’t own a fire tv I can’t test or find issues myself.
Your reposted issue was one before the latest version and since then others reported it’s working for them and don’t have disconnects.
On discord we discussed this in length.
I’ll review the logs, however if you prefer not to use the integration and that works better for you, no problems. From development stands point, it takes time to make it all work, especially without the ability to test, why do many versions.
