I have most of my commands set to use InfraRed (IR) commands, transmitted from the Dock (in another room). Very often, when I hit a button to send a command (such as Volume Up), The remote pulls-up (effectively) one of two MODAL messages (requiring human acknowledgement) before it will allow any other button to work.
- …is not responding: The command did not reach the device. Would you like to try again? (Cancel/Try Again)
- Error sending the command: Denon Receiver is not responding. Error code: 400
Other than the obvious (why does it have a problem sending an IR Command), I have to ask why it’s making me ACKNOWLEDGE that it didn’t work before I can send any other command. Effectively, it failed to send a command, and then makes matters worse for usability by demanding I acknowledge that it didn’t work. Would be much better to just let me hit the button again and hope the new attempt goes through. Instead, it’s making life harder adding in a step and making me think about it.
P.S. Yes I know it’s a Denon Receiver, but I’ve chosen to use IR Signals instead of the Denon integration. So this is indeed an IR issue not a Denon Integration issue.

Firmware 2.8.1 installed? In this version a command is automatically resend for up to 10 seconds if it failed.
Dock 3 a fixed IP in router? If yes connection via IP instead of mdns could be used:

I posted this in a separate thread too because I figured it might get more attention that way. So yeah it’s 2.8.1, and static IP. I did change to use the IP Number instead of auto-discovered name. Worth the shot to see if it helps!
Did you also enable and changed the resend time? On my Android TV I set it to 7 sec.
I don’t think I’ve seen that setting, and poking around in the Web UI, I can not find it under either an Entity or Activity. Where is it?
It is in the settings direct at the remote. Click on top right in the display then settings, power saving.
Could have different name as I have German GUI.
Btw. Discord is the best source for information.

Found it.. in English it’s listed as “Retry commands after wakeup”, but the problem I see isn’t specific to right after waking up. But I just upped the slider to 10 seconds anyway.
It works quite good by my tests but doesn’t yet seem to work in start and/or end sequence.
