I have an Ethernet POE for the Dock. I also have Wifi over to the UFC3 remote. Do I need Wifi on the remote, given dock has POE already?

Yes. The 2 work independently and the ‘intelligence’ is built in to the remote. The dock is just for charging and for sending IR. They should both be connected to your network and will have separate IP addresses.
