Hi,
Why IR for the Philips OLED? I have the OLED806 with the Android TV Integration and there are discrete switch_on and _off. You can simply use a mixture of IP and IR because not every IR command is available with IP.
IP doesn’t work for power on, because the Wifi-connection gets cut off after a short time in standby. Generally IP wasn’t working reliably for me and I switched back to IR commands after a short time.
Which WiFI gets cut off after entering standby? Remote? This can be switch off in the activity settings by enabling prevent sleep on the left side. My Oled806 only does not react on WiFi in the first 10-15 Minutes after I switch on the power plug after that it works perfect for me.
I tried it myself but same result. All codes I have found so far only turn the TV off. I also tried the codes for switching HDMI-Inputs but they only seem to act as the “home” button.
Maybe there is something wrong with the conversion of the codes or an issue with how the codes are send by the Remote 2.
Are you running Home Assistant with your R2? If you are, you should add the NodeRED integration and then this library might work for Power On and HDMI input for your Philips TV.
Hello. I want to buy Remote 3. I currently use harmony 700 and I have a problem like someone above. I have Oled 818 and I can only turn on HDMI 1 and 4. I got codes from Philips support in the form of RC5 and RC6 to turn on HDMI. Unfortunately Harmony does not support RC5 and RC6 codes. How does it look in Remote 3?
Harmony supports RC5 and RC6 but not for all systems. Windows MCE for instance is RC6. Problem for Harmony is that most devices are programmed with the original remote and they hardly support direct input switching.
I understand. Now the question is how is it with Remote 3. Is it possible to put the RC5 or RC6 secret HDMI code somewhere so that it plays it? The original remote does not have it. I need some device to which I will enter the RC5 or RC6 code and this device will convert it to IR.
