This is strange. I went to turn on the “Watch Shield” activity today and I got this message about Bad Request and it looked like it was on the step that selected the source on the Denon.
This had been working fine. I tried the “Watch Apple TV” activity and that worked fine. Try to switch to the Shield activity and the same failure.
I went into the remote configuration and the Denon source list has lost the “CBL/TV” entry (which is what the shield is on) and now has this gobbledegook string, “
I’ve no idea what happened to cause this. I don’t ye know if this mangled string will actually switch to the right input but even if it does, how and why did it change?
I’ve checked it from an iPad and from a Mac and it shows the same values. But, the problem as to be on the remote itself. A working configuration stopped working because the list of inputs for the device somehow changed on its own.
I had a similar effect this weekend. My names were still OK but I got a Denon source error. I think it came in one f the last update. Replace you source command in the start sequence. There are now a lot of commands like INPUT_AUX4, INPUT_GAME1, INPUT_8K and INPUT_DVD and so on. I think these are the same names like printed on the back above the HDMI input of the AVR.
I did switch to those instructions. And, I also found out where the nonsense string camer from. Somehow it appears the remote, in its interaction with the AVR updated the source input name on the AVR to the nonsense string.. I didn’t do that myself.
I fixed the string but I’m using the instructions you referenced since those are not tied to the assigned name within the AVR.
