When in an activity and using the volume buttons mapped to my Denon 3500H, they work fine, but there’s an overlay that pops up on the remote screen to show the volume level (number). The problem is it doesn’t match what’s actually on the AVR so I have no idea where the number is coming from. As much as I like having the feedback on screen, it’s useless if it doesn’t match what’s on the AVR.
Is there a fix for this or a known issue? I searched but didn’t find anything. If not, can I disable the overlay?
Thanks.
And I figured out the discrepancy. In the middle of eating dinner no less.
I have the volume scale set to “-79.5db - 18.0db” as this is how I prefer it. If I put it back to the default of 0-98, it matches the remote overlay pop up.
No idea if OC can make that an option so it displays properly or if it’s a setting in the integration or not. Honestly thought it it would pick this up from the AVR automagically.
The way they’ve implemented volume controls is definitely done without home theater users in mind. It’s very much a smart tv/streamer implementation, which would generally just use a 0-100 scale. I also hope they implement the option to use a 0db relative scale.
