When emitting functions via the Remote3 itself reactions are nearly instantaneous. However, when using either the IR extender or repeater there’s a delay of about a half second. This isn’t always an issue but when perusing menus it absolutely is.
Is this just how it’s going to be when using dock-based IR attachments, or is there a way to improve this communication to lower the latency?
It don’t have any delays with the Dock. Is your Dock connected via WiFi or Ethernet?
WiFi. But I wouldn’t suspect that that would add latency.
edit: I tried ethernet and the delay is the same. It’s not drastic, only about 500ms.

Yes. The remote is fully awake as I’m testing it.
I agree, the delay is not that long, but still noticable. It’s enough for me to make equipment appear to be sluggish. That’s one of the reasons why I don’t use the dock at all. Luckily the internal ir emitter is sufficient in my case.
My equipment is behind a perforated metal screen, which every other IR device has no issue with, but for whatever reason the UC3 isn’t the best at getting through. So the extenders are probably going to be necessary at some point.
