UPDATE: I was so freaking annoyed at the issue that I did a factory reset.
I started having an issue with my Onkyo receiver and while trying to find a solution for it, I downloaded integration manager, but couldn’t get that to work. The integration is installed, and I’m wondering if that’s the issue that I’m having. Every time I tried to update a user interface button on the screen for my Apple TV I got an error saying input invalid. I rebooted my remote and logged out of the web configurator and now when I try to login with my code, the screen goes dark and the reconnecting animation comes up and never goes away. How do I get back into Webb configurator? I’ve tried it in Safari and in Chrome.
I just noticed that now instead of the IP address as the site for the web config, it’s saying to go to http:///configurator. When I go to that site, it says safari can’t connect to server “localhost”.
Try to delete the browser cache and make sure to access the configurator by the ip address of the remote. This url should also be shown next to the qr code on the remote. Also make sure to assign a fixed ip / create a dhcp reservation in your router to both the dock and the remote.
After factory reset I was able to load the web config with the full http://remote3-655f70.local/configurator/#/login address, but I logged out and when I try to log in again, I don’t even get a chance to put in the code before it gets stuck trying to reconnect.
It was definitely awake and in the charger. I even tried it out of the charger while in the middle of an activity that doesn’t allow to go to sleep just to make sure. I still couldn’t get it to connect. I ran out of time today. I’ll try again this weekend
Yes, I have tried both. The remote is awake and connected to internet in the charger. I can get the login screen to come up but before I can put in the code the “reconnecting” animation comes up and locks up the page. Refreshing does nothing. That just causes the page to go black and lock up.
The dock got its own Wi-Fi IP address after the factory reset. The issue is it worked for the first 30 minutes after factory reset. I was able to set up the remote and get it working. The issue was when I logged out and tried to log back in again I wasn’t able to.
This has happened to me a couple of times since the last firmware update. It’s stupid and annoying. But I was able to get out of it. I did a few things, and I’m not sure which fixed it:
#1 I generated a new PIN (and tangent - why in the world can we not set our own PIN???)
#2 I shut the remote down completely and then turned it back on
#3 I opened the web configurator in an incognito window
I think #3 is what solved it. I think it was cached in my browser. But I’m not certain. And BTW I have fixed IPs for my remote and docks, so that wasn’t the issue.
