I’ve had my Remote 3 for a while now and everything has been working well. But I’m now in the process of splitting my home network into VLANs and the remote is becoming unhappy.
I moved my Apple TV to a different VLAN from the remote, and now the remote just won’t see or connect to it. I don’t even have any firewall rules blocking traffic between the VLANs yet, and I have an mDNS repeater. Is separate VLANs just not an option?
Works fine here for me, as long as you have appropriate firewall rules set up.
I’ll have to give it another try. Maybe I missed something. My kids we getting angry that I was hogging the TV!
I guess the answer is no, VLANs are not supported. Unless the remote and the ATV are on the same VLAN. Unfortunate, because Home Assistant has no issues control the ATV from a different VLAN. Seems like an issue that could be resolved by the UC folks.
