Button on remote behaves different to soft. button (same command)

I assign the “play/pause” command (tried all of them) from the apple tv integration within an activity to a softbutton on the touch display –> it works like expected…play, pause all good.

BUT when I assign the very same command to the play/pause hardwarebutton of the remote 3, it does not. I can press it so the stream is paused, but pressing it again to play again it looks like it starts playing for a sec but immediately pauses again. So for me the command is sended twice.

When I try the very same command in the webconfiguratior it is also working like expected, so it is strange for me. So something coming from the remote hardware related? Can anyone help what to do? The command itself seems not to be the probem….

Can you post the Apple TV integration logs? after this happened (settings/development/logs)?

I dont know what happened, after a restart of the remote 3 it is working now. How can I add the log here? it has too many characters @kennymc.c ? Not needed anymore as it is working, but future situations? Thanks anyway!

I’m having similar issues with various IR commands on different devices. Sometimes I have to double press a button to get a response other times just a single press, then sometimes things will all function perfectly then the next day a set of device commands will just intermittently work. I think the software and firmware on this thing is full of bugs that need to be fixed.

As before: Without a log it’s impossible to debug this. You can post it on a site like pastebin.con

Hope this is helpful…

You seem to be using different commands. Sometimes its Pause, sometimes Play/Pause. I don’t see any errors. As you said it works with soft buttons you should include the user inteface log as well as this includes the actual button presses. Have you tried it with different buttons on the remote? Does this only happen with Play/Pause or also other commands? Internally the same command is executed whether its a touch or a hardware button.

Perhaps something configured for long press?

Correct. I tried all commands that came from the entity/integration that have to do with Pause/Play. All of them where working with the softbutton, none of them with the hardbutton. But as said before, it now works after a reboot of the remote. I cannot reproduce the misbehaviour any more. Still all of the commands work now (even without a reboot). I am happy with it now. Thank you for all your time / suggestions…..

@HarmonyFan long press was not configured.
