Battery protection - Smart Charging: Add 80% Battery Cap Option for Remote 3

Since the remote is typically kept on the docking station, it would be helpful to have an option that limits battery charging to 80%, similar to what many smartphones and PCs offer. Ideally, this should be a user-selectable feature that anyone can choose to enable or disable based on their preferences.

I believe there’s already some protection in place, as the remote charges very slowly by design. A software update is also expected to adjust voltage limits. Still, adding a manual toggle to cap charging would likely help prolong battery life even further.

You should post this request on GitHub if there is not already one. I don‘t think any request in this forum has even gotten any attention by UC as this is just a community forum.

Sure, will do. I just hope that if they’ve created a “Feature Requests” category, they actually intend to review it.

Maybe they wait for more people to join the community once everyone has received their remote

I believe this also could be achieved in Home Assistant if you use a smart plug for charging. At least as a workaround.
