Hi all,
The battery of my RC2 will be drained from 100% to 0% in 48 hours even if the RC2 is switched off (long press on power button followed by long press on Switch off area on screen). System version is 1.7.14. Has anyone has the same experience? And maybe a solution?
Fast battery draining usually is caused by the remote not entering sleep/standby mode. What value was the sleep timeout of the remote set to? Have you checked that there is no activity running that is preventing standby? Please also check the core log for entries that contain “Standby mode is inhibited by” or Added resp. removed standby inhibitor. The remote creates standby inhibitors to prevent entering sleep mode and these get deleted after a reboot. So battery draining even if the remote is turned off or restarted sounds strange to me. Have you checked that the remote is really turned off and doesn’t respond to a button press anymore besides the power button?

Doesn’t look like a standby problem to me. I would write to the support. Maybe it’s a problem with the battery or the calibration.
You should not power off your remote (long press on power button).
I don’t have this problem otherwise: when my remote is not used and not plugged into, it just consumes 15 to 20% per day.
Still once I had a faulty hue driver that I configured a long time ago but I didn’t use and it tried to connect and fail all the time.
Your logs are too short, you should generate a log file with many more lines like this
And then check which recurring messages you have, more precisely from which domain they are triggered : core, a given driver…
Also you can check in the integration page if one driver report any errors

Is the backlight on the buttons still on?
I recently turned off the remote as it wasn’t going to be used for a few days and noticed that the buttons backlight was still on. I assume it’s a bug introduced on the current software version (non beta) since I have never had it happen before. I was able to turn off the backlight, but I had to hold the power button down again until they went off. If you have the same issue, I reckon that would drain the battery.

Thanks for your reply. I was away for some time so I couldn’t react sooner.
I am able to replicate the issue: when switching off while the remote is not in the dock at first the remote seems to be completely switched off (no backlight, no reaction to buttons) but after some time it restarts. And subsequently the battery drains completely.
When I switch off the remote while it is in the dock and wait untill it is switched off and then remove it from the dock it stays off and holds the state of charge for weeks (I returned after two weeks, started the remote and the SoC was 98%).

This is interesting as I have a similar problem with battery drain. I will try your suggestion. This must be a bug of some sort. Did you report it?
