Battery Charge Display

I can’t find a way to show the battery charge level on the remote except for the home screen. When you are actually using the remote in an activity to control devices, there doesn’t seem to be way to tell the battery level aside from X-ing out of the current activity and going back to the home screen.

There appears to be enough room to include the battery level indicator in the same size and location as seen on the home screen, to each of the activity screens.

Since the battery is probably the weakest part of the remote 3 (in my opinion) and it often doesn’t last a full evening, it would be useful to see the charge level while on an activity screen, so you can return it to the base and start the extremely slow recharging before the battery dies completely.

I’ve set an alarm in Home Assistant when de remote is below 10% battery.

But that requires Home Assistant. I agree there should be a permanent indicator in every screen

Not only HA can monitor status. Each automation is able to do through the REST API. I do it with IP Symcon and set it to 20% and upto now it only noticed me once but late at 11pm.

I agree. The 2 things I always wanna see on my remote are the time and the battery percentage like a phone. Harmony Elite had that. You click the time; it becomes the battery indicator.

Hopefully, that’ll come in a future update. If not, where do I go to request it?

I added a feature request here, but I don’t think this is the right place:

Now I think of it, it’s quite easy to pass the battery level sensor in home assistant back to the remote and place it in each activity screen.

Quite weird to do it this way, but it works

The latest beta 2.9.1 adds the option to show the battery level everywhere. To enable it go to Settings/User Interface on the remote.

Fantastic. I don’t see the 2.91 beta yet (I do have the beta updates enabled), but will keep looking for it. Thank you!

Just updated to 2.9.1 and while it now has the option to show the battery indicator everywhere, it is being overlapped by my activity name. Something to be aware of.

My battery percentage often jumps from 90% straight to 100%. That’s inconvenient when triggering Home Assistant automations based on the charge level.
